Hi

Basically I'm in a situation where at the moment my budget isn't too great, and I want a new GPU and case (my current case is a naff £15 thing). I'm mainly interested in buying the Cooler Master Scout, as I think it looks awesome (imo), but to afford it I will have to buy a cheaper GPU (the 4870 512MB XXX edition), whereas I could buy a cheaper case, like the Centurion 590 or something, and then get a better/more expensive GPU (the GTX 260 216 core edition).

So basically, what would you do in this situation? Go for the cheaper GPU and case you prefer or settle for a cheaper case and go with the better GPU?

The rest of my system is as follows:

Pentium Dual-Core E2180 OC'ed to 3GHz
Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX motherboard
2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 TwinX memory (6400)
Radeon HD 3850 256MB (PCI-E)
Rubbish no-brand PSU (I have already ordered a new PSU, the Cooler Master Real Power Modular 520W)
Windows XP
Gaming resolution: 1680 x 1050 on a 19" LG LCD (which I won't be upgrading any time soon)

Thanks for your help.

Tricky. What's the total budget?
I'd spend it all on the case, as cases last for years and gfx cards depreciate very fast. But then, I'd be quite happy with the 3850 and you have asked under case central :)

I think if you ask under graphics cards you'll be told to spend it all on the card. Useful I know

Could you not wait until you have the extra £25 (that being how much cheaper the 590 is than the scout) and get what you want, best of both?

personnaly id go for the antec 300 and a second hand 4870, the 300's a bulletproof budget case and theres nothing like saving a bit of money by buying second hand
