Hi,

After some help trying to pin down a case for a new build (my second ever). I've got a thread on another board about the build, but the case is causing me problems. I want something that fits the following criterea:

  • Must be as quite as possible.
  • Fan based cooling. (had wondered initially if fanless was possible but appreciate now that this is not really an option).
  • I wanted to build something a fair bit smaller than my current Lian Li (21x41x48 (whd)). Didn't want to lose potential of expandablilty, so was going to go mATX rather than ITX
  • Would like 2 SSD bays and 3/4 HDD bays.
  • At least one external 5.25 bay.
I've looked at the BitFenix Phenom, but can't live with the fact you need to remove the cover to access the 5.25 drive bay. I liked the look of Aerocool DS cube also, but it's not much smaller than what I have now and drive bays are limited.

Can anyone recommend/suggeest any cases that fit the above needs?

Thanks

Have you seen the Colossus M? it has a hinged door to access the 5.25

I have now thanks. It seems to tick the boxes. Not sure I could live with the lighting though. Should have added to the list that I don't really go in for the bling. I like soemthing a but more subtle. Suppose I could disconnect the lights :D

Ok, I think I'm going to have to scrap the 'compact' theory. I just don't think a case exists that can meet my requirements, so can anyone recommend me a case built with quietness in mind, good air flow, and iro of 21x44x48. Smaller would be better, but happy to go a little bigger if needs be.

Cheers

Been looking around a bit more. Quite like the sound of Silverstones Precision PS07. Anyone have any views/experience of this case?

Thanks,

MrJubbly

Okay, well the list now stands at:

  • Aerocool DS (mATX)
  • Fractal Define Mini
  • Silverstone Precision PS07
  • Silverstone Temjin TJ08-E
Any first hand views on these cases, regarding their air cooling ability, quiteness/noise dampening, ease of build and aesthetics in the flesh?

Thanks,

MrJubbly
