Hi i have a Packard bell 1307 which has a Altissimo µATX Chassis, i am installing the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler. I have been told i need to put a fan in to cool down the hot air produced from the cpu cooler. I would like to have posted a picture of the rear of my pc but for some reason i cant post attachments. Here is a link thats show the rear of my pc

and has you can see i will need to do some modding. Could anybody give me advise and any tips on how to install it. Just to mention i have done a measurement inside the case and 120mm and 80mm fans are to big and will not fit on the rear of my pc, i have seen on overclockers website that they do 40mm 60mm and 70mm fans.
Thanks, steveveg

Ive just installed a 60mm Akasa Amber fan on another pc and these run silent. To mad for these, you will need to cut a circular hole the size of the fan blades with a hole saw (Remove all the internal pc parts first however). Then drill 4x mounting holes for the screws. Which you will need to buy seperately if you dont have any, as they dont usually come with the fans.

Cheers PhillyDee

If you look at the picture of my case its air vent is on the side panel couldnt i just attach the fan to that or does it have to be at the back. i am not sure but will this Akasa System Exhaust Blower make any difference, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SY-000-GE&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=399
saves me boring holes in my case. Just to mention i dont have any graphic cards installed, and i do have spare PCI slots. Thanks, steveveg

Ive never used one personally, but i see no reason why it wouldnt work. They are more ofr cooling down graphics cards, but it will suck the air out of the case too. Are there no mounting holes on the front of the case for extra fans?

Out of interest...Why are you installing the Freezer 7 pro cooler?

Just seem's a bit too much hassle...Unless your processors overheating or something.

No there are no mounting holes on the front or back, i assume with it originally being a intel celeron pc they werent needed?

Ah yes, them lovely chips :) Like to be a bit on the toasty side.

Well for a fix that doesent involve you hacking your case, have you tried adding a fan to the side panel some how? Blowing air over the cpu fan...To be fair if you could do that the stock intel fan would suffice.

Thanks Delvis like i mentioned to phillydee in a earlier post in this thread there is no where to put a fan inside, the pictures are there of my packard bell case and the only way i can possibly fit a fan is on the side panel air vent grill, would you not recommend using the side air vent grill, i dont want to cut any holes in the case thats why i am looking to use a exhaust fan. Below is the post.

Cheers PhillyDee

You could also buy a 120mm fan and cable tie it to the side grill. That should suffice. Plus, if you get a silent one, you wont be able to tell the noise. Its up to you.

Well looking at the pictures of your case, you should be able to just screw the fan onto the side panel...? But I cant tell properly looking at the picture.

Thanks Phillydee and Delvis, both sound like good ideas i will give the 120mm fan a go and use cable ties, if that doesnt work i will try screwing it in to the side panel. I am going to purchase either the Akasa AK-191 or the Arctic Cooling 12025L, any suggestions which one is best. I do have a three pin chassis fan slot on my motherboard could i just plug it into that and would i have to make any changes in bios. Thanks for your time boys will let you know how i get on.

You should be able to just plug the fan in and it will work. Can't see there being any bios settings you will have to change. :)

Try it with cable ties first if you want just so you dont put marks on your side panel...then if the temperatures drop you can decide if you want to screw it onto the side panel or not.
