correct me if I’m wrong but some fans suck air into the case and other vent air out?

So my question is do you have to buy certain fans for certain places or things? Or do you just fit the fans where the spaces are allocated for on the case and they do the correct job?

I’m looking at swapping out my case for a new one in the near future and want to have a clear idea for the change over before I start.

I was looking to get a nzxt h440 which comes with fans included but after seeing this one on another thread I’ve been tempted by it.

Only comes with one fan included.

Hey there,

The only difference you need to look out for is some are "Static pressure" fans which means they are far more suited for watercooling radiators - otherwise, any fans are fine :)

Hi

Ok then so any will do?
I’ve looked online at the specs and this is what it says fan wise.

Front 2x120mm or 2x140mm
Top 3x120mm or 2x140mm
Rear 1x120mm
Included 1x120mm LED in rear
Liquid cooling 120mm rear or 240 mm front

I take it that the included one is the rear one it mentions above.

So I have to get another 5x120mm or 4x140mm?

I also have a Corsair h45 liquid cooling which has a 120mm fan do I put that in place of one of the standard ones?

They can do either, as it depends on which way round you mount the fan. Some fans have arrows marked on them showing the direction of air flow, but in case they don't, fans blow air onto the support struts that hold the motor in the centre.
Make sure you have more air blowing into the case than blowing out, as this will give you positive pressure in the case to reduce dust getting in.

You don't have to populate every fan position. I would have a pair of 140mm in the front as intakes, a pair of 140mm in the roof as exhausts and your 120mm H45 in the rear position as a exhaust. If you have a fan controller you can reduce the speed of the 140's to get the airflow/noise balance that you require.

Ok so I would realistically need 4x140mm, 1 for my H45 and the 120mm that’s included in the case.
My motherboard has one SYS 4 pin fan connector and one CPU fan connector.

Would the SYS be for my H45 I assume?

Could someone spec me something I could use for the 6 other fans. Ive seen stuff one the auction site but £2-£3 seems a bit cheap compared to everything else I’ve ben buying, I would be unsure of the quality.

The fans I’m planning on using are antec truequiet 140mm which have speed switches on the cables but if I use molex for the hub they won’t work?
