case for SLI rig

Go with the case then, Akasa Eclipse + 2x Akasa Ambers and the blowhole side panel should sort you out perfectly, if it does not then your graphics cards are faulty as you can't get better cooling than that under normal noise levels. :p
Thanks for the help. :)

I don't think the cards are faulty - the artifacts (if you can call them that - they're split-second texture flashes on certain surfaces) aren't there if I run Oblivion as soon as the PC is switched on. They appear after a few minutes play, once the temps have built up.

The Eclipse is really the case best suited to solve your problems then.

The side mounted blowhole panel will literaly blow air into your heat pocket and should at least buy you a stable PC for the summer.

Good luck with it, make sure to post back with the results. :)

Out of interest, what case are you using at the moment?

It's just some old midi-tower that I've had for about 3 years. I hoped that adding a decent PSU, uprated HSFs and decent case fans to it would suffice - turns out I was wrong! It's done fine up until now - I just don't think it can cope with an X2 4400+ and SLI XXX Extremes. :D

I intend to photograph the transfer from the old to the new case so I'll post the pics on here. If nothing else - it might help someone point out where I'm going wrong. LOL!

Thanks again for the replies. ;)

Good luck, will be a huge leap up for you!

And oh my, I got through all of that without recommending a Lian Li, I need to go and have a lie down now. :D

Thermaltake Shark

Hi guys this is my first post on this forum so be gentle with me!!!!!
I was searching everywhere for a decent SLi case but to be honest I could not decide which one to go for, from all the reviews etc.............
Today I went to a Computer Fair and saw a Thermaltake Shark and thought that is moddable.
Got it home slapped a 120mm fan to the side panel mesh and bobs yer aunty a beautiful SLi case. It has reduced my temps buy atleast 6 degrees celsius. Very happy with it, so I hope this post helps someone out there.
Plus its a stunning looking case and big.
