i have about £170 to spend on a case and i would like a sleek, black, aluminium case with no door unless there is space underneath the door to fit a fan controller. preferably no windows either. i quite like the minimalistic look :) also needs to fit a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler. im also going to be cooling on air so no watercooling requirements.

thank you if you can help me with choosing a case.

Stulid, i have been looking at the atcs and it looks like the most likely option. are there any others i should consider? maybe not on OcUK? the A71 looks nice but incredibly tall. i kinda want a little bit of ability to move it. i know the ATCS will be heavy but i can still put it in the boot of the car. the A71 looks a bit big to do that.

BTW £170 is just my max price not what i absolutely have to spend. so if there is a case that is better than the higher priced ones then please tell me about it and ill look for some reviews.

cool thanks ill do that i reckon if i get the ATCS. can you suggest a different Lian Li case that is the A71B? its just insanely tall. what about the smaller PC-B10?

thanks

wth?? thats insanely tall!

about the FT02. it looks like i would have to plug all peripherals into the top? strange orientation.

edit:sorry meant FT02. now changed

i like the discussion about the Silverstones but can you give me any other case suggestions other than the Fortresses? i quite like the look of the FT01 but i think it looks quite small. also the FT02's orientation puts me off a bit despite the lovely looks. you probably missed earlier but i asked about the Lian Li PC-B10 and was wondering if you have any opinions on that casle? its smaller than the A71B but has that nice sleek look about it. right now im stuck between the Lian Li's, the Fortresses and the CM ATCS 840

well i really cant see how the Fortress could be so bad 'you would have to blind to think about it'. both of the Fortresses fit my requirements yes but the FT01 is quite small compared to other cases in the price range. and the FT02 looks like it has a strange way orientation of the components. where does the I/O shield go? on the top?

i wish there was a Lian Li like the A70 but with out the grill at the front.

thats what i was thinking. someone said earlier that there is about 2cm between the front and the door so maybe i could fit a low profile one in there?

Oh! boo hoo.

You don't like the fact I'm right/your wrong.

Jog on kid.

i hope this wasnt directed at me because i havent said anything against your opinions but the fact that you said i would have to be blind to choose a fortress.

Do you have the controller at the minute V4nger. Or do you have a particular model in mind?

i dont even own a desktop yet :p just trying to have all the info under my belt before i spec up and buy. although i wont get a fan controller at the beginning im just thinking about the future when i will buy more fans for my case and need a controller for them. this is the one im looking at right now (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BB-001-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=189)

umm it does fit my requirements. thats why im going for it. it is almost on par with the Haf cases for aircooling. it isnt awful. im not going to just take any ones word for it im just asking for suggestions and your opinions but ill research the cases myself as well.

there is a bit of hypocrisy going on hear with you (C64) saying they are bigging up their cases and you praising yours. the ATCS has had great reviews and no one has said it isnt worth the money. ive read all the threads on this forum regarding it. and the graphics cards do have a bit of a job being cool but its not going to be anywhere near dangerous levels. the cooling just isnt absolutely stunning. im not going to upgrade to a 800D since it is steel and therefore very heavy. and i dont really like the looks that much tbh.
