Hi. You'll have to excuse my ignorance here. I'm building my first PC. I've bought an Xigmatek Asguard III case, which looks okay for the price. But the manual is worse than useless. One tiny pamphlet with pathetic b/w pics which are supposed to provide instructions. For example, for installing the PSU it just shows a screwdriver being held up to the rear of the case. Excellent!

Anyway, I just want to clarify what each part is for. Please see my pic below.

The copper stand offs I know are for the motherboard. I assume I use the 8 hexagon screws (3 in the pic) are to secure those? (if so why not the same quantity of each?)

The 4 hexagon screws (4) are about an inch long with only the end being threaded. What are they for?

The 18 pan washer screws (1) - are these for securing fans, HDDs, DVD drives etc??

Wire saddles I assume for cable tidying? What are mounting purse locks? And the lock board??

I know I must seem daft and it's all probably very obvious, but it irritates me that they don't assume I'm the idiot that I am and at least give a basic run down of what each part is for.

The lock board will allow you to padlock the side panel on, or use a security cable.

The mounting purse locks are to keep the cables tidy.

Pretty much this, all optional of course. I'd recommend the mounting purses for the PSU 24pin Motherboard wire/wires.

The 4 Hexagon Screws I assume are for the power supply. Power supplies do come with 4 screws some times. I would suggest experimenting a bit. I did and quickly found out which ones went where as they don't all fit in the same place. Good luck with the build and get some pictures up :D

1 are the motherboard mounting stand off's as you know

2 are for mounting hard discs/cd drives/floppy drives etc

3 are for securing the motherboard to the stand offs

4 are for mounting the PSU

Thanks chaps.

The 4 Hex screws (4) can't be for mounting the PSU, they're way too long. The PSU came with it's own screws anyway.

This isn't really a new build. I've acquired a PC in a crap case with a generic PSU and a broken DVD drive. I bought a new case, decent PSU and have a graphics card to go in too. I'm basically transfering the rest of the PC to the new case. This is a good test as I'll want to build from screatch next time.
