So after spending many rotations of the earth looking for a case that ticks all my boxes I have always resorted back to the CaseLabs Magnum STH10.

I was looking for alternatives that didn't involve me having to sell my car for the shipping costs but I can't find an alternative that makes me happy.

So my question is; Does anybody know of any way of purchasing a CaseLabs case without going via them directly and paying such high shipping costs.

Yeah they are using CaseLabs case's, infact I think some are the ones I want. But I contacted OcUK a while back and they basically said I had to order direct from CaseLabs.

What case did you get ? and what was your total cost ?

I have read that import tax can be about £150 ? if thats the case the STH10 will dent the bank by about £850 delivered?

I spotted this place in Germany however the site is so bad half the stuff didn't work. Not to mention they wanted about €990 for the STH10 excluding shipping and VAT!

Think it's safer to deal direct to be fair.

My thoughts too on the German site, what is the point ordering from Germany when it will be even more expensive than from Caselabs direct. By all accounts if you order quick-ship shipping is very fast even to the UK, you just have to expect to pay a high price for the case.

I bought my TH10A direct from Caselabs and paid $147 for FedEx.

I wouldn't want to buy from a 3rd party when Caselabs provide such a good service.

How much was the breakdown of all the costs if you don't mind me asking.

Case, shipping, vat, import tax etc.

Case was $677.80, FedEx $147 but on the FedEx details Caselabs put the value at 300 USD (I guess the value for them to replace it?) and I didn't get charged any vat or other taxes.

Cheers for that info.

It's the case I always wanted but have been looking at other cases due to the cost but no other cases tickle my todger.

I never thought of doing a build log but I can't see why not?

If you get a caselabs case I think it's a moral and civic duty to do a build log, I sure will be! :D

I guess it's luck of the draw whether you get stung with taxes or not? Quite a big hit if you do.

CaseLabs products are used in our 8Pack systems as they are a no compromise approach to system building. We have spoken to CaseLabs at length and they have essentially given us the opportunity to sell the cases but the cost of import is frankly massive. A CaseLabs chassis, especially one of the larger ones has to be shipped over from the US as part of a large order on a pallet. The costs involved in this are extremely prohibitive and would essentially make no commercial sense for OcUK. For now, we will not be stocking CaseLabs as run rate stock. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Basically, we'd love to stock Case Labs cases but the costs of doing so with all the accessories & customisation options available would not be financially viable for the relatively small amount of people that are willing to drop that kind of money on a computer case.

Totally understandable.

However wouldn't you consider taking requests from people that know exactly what they want?

So in theory acting as a middle man? Would this cost us the same of more?

Maybe just a couple of cases at stock of varying type, then the buyer buys the addons direct from US to get what they want. They cut the colour choices anyway due to needing to speed up production, so just get primed versions. I bet you folk here would buy them Chug.
An OcUK limited version even, leave room for buyers to change them at a later date. Of course if OcUk has to add on their piece of the pie I guess they'd work out maybe just too expensive like you say.
