well im thinking of getting some case lights, but not to install them into my PC case, but instead to use them to light my desk, this brings me a couple of questions

which lights would be best?

AC Ryan TWIN 30 CCFL light - 2 x30 UV

or

AC Ryan TWIN20 CCFL Light - 2 x 20cm Blue

or

Akasa Dual Blue Cold Cathodes 1 Inverter

whats the difference between the three and which would be best?

how would i power them since there not being installed into a case?

hope you can help

thanks in advance

I think those types of lights would be a little too bright to be on your desk.

I think the point is so that you dont see the light directly so hide it away somewhere at the back of the desk.

Theres two options for OP,

1. Hook them up in side you computer and have the wires going to the cathodes going out an empty pci slot. (so inverter is kept inside the case along with power cables).

2. Get something like this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...Ryan Backy™ 3x Molex UVBlue / Sleeved (BX3985)
And connect that up so that you have to find a place to hide the inverter and power cables outside of your case.

Its really up to you.

I did this! I ran 4 x cathode ray tubes 12" from a cable out the back of the pc!

Extended all the wires and zip tied all the invertors under the table out of sight!

I have one under monitor, 1 under keyboard, 1 under pc and 1 under corner!
The table is glassand helps the light flow!

Looks great/better at night! well I like it
