Hi everybody,

At the moment i severly need a new case :p I'm running a gaming rig and i dont have an intake fan for christ's sake  and it's been like that for over a year now and since it's coming up to summer i'd rather ditch the CPU temps of over 90 degrees!

I am currently running this setup:
Asus M2N-E SLI Mobo
HD 4870 1GB
AMD 5200+ (2.7ghz)
2gb RAM (Will be upgrading to 4gb soon)

So basically i need a case reccomendation, i have no intention of overclocking my system but i do intend to buy a better CPU further down the line.

The two cases i have been looking at are:

I'm not sure i need to shell out that much if im not going to be OC'ing.

Or

Cheers,

Welcome to the forums! Have a look at the Antec 300 as well as the two you are looking at, it is very well built, has great cooling potential, easy to work with and can easily be modded to give similar cable tidying features as far more expensive cases.

what cpu cooler are you using as this would make a big effect to heast aswell as standard ones are rubbish imo but antec 300 would serously increase your air flow and everything and are nice cases

Thanks everyone, I have no idea what my current case is as i bought my pc pre-built... How i regret that now. I'm using the stock CPU cooler atm, however where i have my pc located atm is probably the real cause of the overheating. It's in a similar place to this:

I think i'm gonna go with the 335 because although the others offer betting cooling only intake and exhaust fans will dramatically affect the airflow due to the position of my pc wont they?

Where you place the rig can have an effect on cooling performance. Always good to have sufficient room around the case especially the back where its exhausting out hot air

My case is in a lockable desk (to keep little fingers away from buttons and shiny lights...) and I'm sure it'll affect performance to some degree, but tbh the case fans will pull in plenty of air regardless, certainly enough to keep my rig cool on it's 24/7 OC of 4GHz - so I doubt that your desk placement will make that much difference.

I agree and have taken into consideration all of your points but there's literally going to be no space at the sides of the case, however plenty at the front and back so i feel i have made the right choice in going for the 335 even though it may not be the best case.
