-200mm height
-Good looking <= £50
-Takes full size cards
-Quiet, good airflow

I've been looking at the Antec NSK 2480 that comes with a 380W PS.

Any other suggestions?

Isn't that Antec a lot more than £50? A separate case and PSU would offer a lot more flexibility, not sure if the one inside the NSK 2480 is ATX or not, probably is.

Why the height restriction? Is it for a HTPC or a more powerful gaming rig? I.e. will it need to cool some powerful parts?

I've missed a bit of info that would help. Yes it's for a gaming/htpc. The antec is more than £50 but it includes a PSU too.

Gotchya.

The problem is, cases that cost less than £50 and are lower than 200 mm fall into two categories:

Dirt cheap media centre cases, which are poorly built and probably don't have good cooling.

Cheapish 'desktop' cases, much like your Antec suggestion. Most of them will be better built than a MC case, but still probably won't be up to scratch on cooling (depending on what specific hardware you're using).

Maybe a stupid question, but have you thought about buying a half decent cheap ATX case and putting it on it's side, and having an external DVD-RW or similar?

Thanks for the info, I'd rather go with a hotizontal case. If I were to push the cost a little would you recommend anything?

The Antec still seems like a good option to me.

hmmm... the height restriction is the hard part here.
A Coolermaster elite 360 seems ok, it will fit cards up to 9.6" which is most cards except the newer massive cards

Does it have to look good? If not get a 2nd hand (up to) 4u rackmount case off the 'bay and a good (see Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax) Power Supply :)

What do you think to a 5850 running off a 380W PSU? Coincidently the length of this card is 9.6" :) I probably not end up getting that card as I can't really justify the cost. I'm not sure about it fitting a decent size card though as this review (http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1890_6.html) says they couldn't fit the 3850 in which is 9".

I'm liking the idea of this case, just watching a review now. It could look better but the cost is quite attractive.

Edit: really thinking of going for this case now, but I've read the GPU and PSU compete for space, with this in mind could anyone recommend a micro ATX PSU?

Has to look 'okay', it will be under the TV. I'll rule these out. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Case arrived today. Less than 24 hours for free delivery is excellent service!

Now I just need the rest of the components... :/

hmmm... i wouldn't suggest that, i would go around 500W because at max the 5850 uses 180W and with the other components, 380W will be pushing it.
as for the size of the PSU, i have no idea on that one, sorry
