A very generic thread but you guys are the experts ha.

My Budget is between the £100 - £150 margin here is my Current setup

Intel i7 920 D0 - 3.8 - 1.2v - Idle 44c - Load - 77 - 73.
Corsair H50 - Push Pull (Corsair Fan + Akasa Apache)
Asus Rampage 2 Extreme
Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800
ATI 4890 - idles around 48.
Coolermaster Cosmos Pure Black - 2x Akasa Apache Intakes 1x Akasa Apache Exhaust. H50 is mounted to the top.

My main concern is that when i push above 3.8 and start pumping 1.25v + my temps are 85+.

My First question is, would an alternative case in my price range be able to provide enough airflow and not be deafening to keep a 4ghz - 4.2ghz overclock under the 80c mark.

Ideally im looking at the Fractal Design one but would consider replacing all the fans with Akasa Apache's but would this be enough?

Secondly this is sort of unrelated to cases, but is anyone aware of what model of fan is used as the default corsair one for the H50?.

p.s. if you do suggest a case, please not one of antec gaming case range as they are so ugly ha.

Cheers in advance fellas. If you have any questions i will try to reply asap and all advice is appreciated.

Airflow wise, HAF 922 or 932.

However it may be too noisy for your tastes and the looks are a bit of a marmite discussion point.

I have the 922, and with the fans kept spinning slowly I remain adamant that it is nice and quiet. But that is a very personal thing and I have seen others equally as adamant that it sounds like a tornado. It does with the fans all spinning at 100%... but mine aren't :).

Although acoustically good Cosmos is rather intake limited with complex insides/airflow so that probably contributes to temps along with LGA1366 platform being very power hungry.

If you know you won't be needing more 5.25" device bays then Fractal Design is cooling wise quite configurable.

If you want space Lian Li A70FB would be spacious.

Door equipped A71FB just is acoustically lot better.

Also Coolermaster ATCS 840 is another quite nice design.

Airflow wise, HAF 922 or 932.
Same bling bling ping pong styling as Antecs.
And fully open design is acoustically awful.

You would have realised that I pretty much said those things in my initial post if you had bothered to read it.

The case isn't loud if you run low speed fans, sheesh.
