Hi,
I was wondering would it be easy to transfer all the components from one case to another.
The case I have is a Sunbeam Samurai.

How would I under go this task, I hate this case so I'm desperate to get rid of it .

Thanks, also any case recomendations, I like the look of the Thermal Take Soprano Super Midi Tower Black With Window.
How do I ground myself before touching components?
Thanks

Plug ATX power cable to the PSU, switch it on by the wall, but have the PSU power cable to off. It'll be grounded, but it's safe to connect things ie mobo ATX power cable, HD, etc.

Got any better pictures of mobo and PSU? Is PSU standard ATX, or fixed to the case?

Thermaltake VC3000BWS looks pretty good.

Thats bad advice, not all PSU's have off switches and you will be grounded with the plug in the wall and it switched OFF, the earth does not need power to work and that is part of the whole point behind it!

The case is ATX with a ATX PSU, all standard.

The Soprano is a decent case, but the Antec Super Lanboy is MUCH better value for money, it is built better and at its current price is a steal!

What, no one rubs their fingers on the grounded (like Yewen said - connected but off) PSU sides or on radiator pipes (if not hot) :o ?? Also, don’t wear anything woollen!

Hmmmm i was considering getting the Samuri before i found the wonderful world of nice cases :p

Transferring components is very easy. Most ATX cases have virtually the same layout, so it's just a matter of finding the new home for the components and placing them in. Put the cd drives/floppy drives/hard drives in first and then put in the mobo. Have the case lying down on it's side and it makes it a hell of a lot easier :)

My PSU is a Hiper Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU if that helps whoever was asking.
Does every connection need to be in the same socket, (if you know what i mean)

Thanks

edit: I've had a look at the antec super lanboy, I dont like the waffle on the front of it. anyways thanks

The PSU connections will go in the same place as long as you're using the same components.

the suprano's are nice cases for ~£45. if you wanna spend more, go for the pc7 plus, less and its the lanboy but i agree with you, i cant see what the attraction to the lanboy is - i HATE that front panel. One thing to note about the supranos - the no-screwed method for securing expansion cards (sound cards, graphics card ect) is crap. unscresw it and just screw the cards down:)

wall switched off i hope you mean

Glad other people picked up on that after I said.

The hard drives etc just need a 'Molex' which are the 4 pin ones, most common. Any one of them will do just fine. :)

Just take a few pictures before you begin, and then replicate it in the new PC, very easy to do.

If you have access to another PC and gave me a bit of warning I would happily talk you through it all on msn. :)

Add me if you want a chat aswell. :) (sag-okia at zen.co.uk)

I would want the case with a side pannel. In your sea of stuff I noticed you have got the Linksys WAG54G ? Its the same as mine, the router I have is crap. I have to reset mone every hour along with other things. I really need a new one.

Anyway. Tsunami Dream Super Midi Aluminium Tower - Black with window looks good aswell. How flimsy are the doors on these cases because my sunbeam's door is very fragile.
Should I go for green or blue lights? Some help on modding would be appreciated

Great, I've never updated the firmware, i'm sure I tried to once but I think the d/l links or something was down at the time.
Is the door aluminium on the soprano? and could you get some pictures of the hinges please?
If not is the door aluminium on the tsunami Dream?
Thanks
