I have a casecom 6788 case, it has 120mm fan holes at front, back and 2 on side and 140mm top. If i install a large heatsink it will cover the higher side fan space, so would a smaller heatsink with an extra fan pulling cool air ito the case work better than a large heatsink? I currently have the front pulling in and rear and top pushing air out.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I have that case too with a big Xigamatek S-1284 heatsink in it and as you say it takes up fan space but I would recommend this over a smaller heatsink as it provides better cpu cooling.
I wouldn't worry about side fans imo it will only disrupt the already good airflow which your fan orientation makes, I have them positioned the same way and have no trouble with temps. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Pooley :)
my temps are looking good at the moment, 62c on prime95 at 3.76ghz (235x16). I tried 240 fsb but the volt increase made me overheat :( but still pretty impressed with the stock cooler until i can afford a venom :D
