People don't worry, I know the reason for this.

HE LIVES IN WALES!!!!!

We ALL know the Welsh are strange, and thus their ATM's too.

:p

Couple of things:

Firstly to the OP. The ATM has sensors in the 4 cassettes of notes loaded in. There would be a few hundred pounds max in there. The ATM is a machine, it has to rely on sensors and the sensors are set at certain levels, the ATM will know it's low and will try and get you to take more. UNFORTUNATELY, the banks have been told by the BoE to increase the supply of tenners in the system so instead of roughly 75%-80% of notes dispensed being £20's, the limit is now 60% which is a pain tbh.

That leads to the *****'s whinging about £5's not being stocked. The average ATM transaction in this country is c. £120 now. A normal ATM will have 4 cassettes, each of which can stock 2000 individual notes. An average ATM will dish out £10k on a quiet day, up to £20k on a normal 'busy' day and more on special events such as Christmas/New Year/Bank holidays. Criminals know how much is in the ATM's so you tend to load them as infrequently as possible. £5's are pointless in ATM's, that's why the bank's don't stock them -they make it less secure and lash up the balance of the ATM and anyway, who takes £5's out of an ATM? It buys you very little these days.

Lloyds Rant

1/Basic accounts (the one they offer those on benefits when the DSS couldn't be arsed printing Giros no more) can only use there own ATM's as us peasants should obviously have to walk several miles just to get a 10

Firstly, you cost the bank money to have your account, stop complaining. You can withdraw from the post office as well for your moocher JSA that I pay from my tax. Not like you have anything other than a hard session of Judge Judy and some Jeremy Kyle to watch anyway. Bank accounts are a privilege, not a right.

2/The balance it gives you when you take your money out it doesn't take into account money you've paid out on your card you have to actually go to the check balance screen to find your balance available. Went hungry a couple of days before I got onto that trick

If you have a Basic, you can't spend on your card unless you get an Electron (doubt it). Even so, try internet Banking, It's your money and your responsibility. The balances it gives you are the current balance and available balance. Guess which one is available?

3/£5 notes are only stocked in ATM's in the student area ( you know students loans coming out there ass credit like I'll never see ) and not in areas of high unemployment who do need to get that last fiver out the bank cos there leccy just went and the banks aren't open till tommorow, ahh well time for night lites again

/end rant

I hate banks

The Bank doesn't care. It is a PLC (or was anyway...) and has shareholders to answer to, not jobless moochers. Try paying your electricity by DD or some of the other modern ways of doing things. If you cannot do things like that, take out all your money at the start of the week when your JSA comes in and budget like that.

Lloyds classic account (I think it's still called that) has no monthly charge and you can use the card in virtually every cashpoint.
