Morning Gents
I had my Elise written of before Christmas and I have just had a letter from a 'company' that has bought the car and is repairing it asking for any service history or other documentation that I have on the car.

Now Im all for the car being repaired and put back on the road as the damage IMO was not that bad but I am slightly worried that this could be a scam of some type or some poor unfortunate buyer is going to get stiched up.

Anyone heard of any scams like this? Obviously I wont put any reciepts with CC numbers in there but is there any other documents I should be wary of?

I think I am becoming very sceptical in my old age :rolleyes:
 
this is common and salvage or rapair yards or even the end user who is repairing the car will ask for this info,
you dont have to hand it over to them, however do what iv done in the past, sell it to them for like 50 quid or even more.
but if they are asking for the service history then its could be a trader who has fixed the car and is now planning on selling it.
either way i will be registered damaged when doing a HPI check.

I have, it seems like a one man band operation with a website under development. They have offered to pay for any costs for P&P so I guess what with the HPI history it should all be fine.

Since they are looking to make a profit, why not ask them for an extra fee to cover your "time"? They will add value to the car for having the service docs, why not make your cut?
 
When I have repaired cat D cars I try and get hold of the history and nearly always greeted with a £50+ bill for it, so yeah charge them. Traders have to include in the add that it's on vcar anyway.

Not too fussed about making money on documents TBH just didn't want to be a part of some one getting stitched later on, plus I still have a hard top that i'll try to sell them :D
