Cat owner warning: Automatic litter boxes that have killed cats.

Are there any that don't kill cats? :D Changing the cat litter is one of my most hated tasks and often forget, would love it to be done automatically.

That is terrifying. That the one in the vid uses the Tuya app says it all really, it's commonly used by generic and borderline-counterfeit smart devices, lights etc.

we have 3 cats, they all use normal litter boxes. Only automated stuff are the feeders but they're so weak that the cats themselves break into them.
I've had the Xiaomi pet feeder since December, no issues so far and the lid attaches quite firmly so even if toppled over it shouldn't come off and the app works well even when away from home. Only annoying thing is the flat top which my cat jumps up on and sits there as a way to tell me he wants food. :D

Cats cannot bury poo on a lawn.

What you on about?

My parent's neighbour's cat had a good try at it - I had just come home one day to hear a rushing noise followed by bellows of rage and a cat sounding off like it thought it was about to be killed and my dad had run out in just his underwear confronting it in gorilla like fashion :s

Wont someone think of the children!!1111

I realise it seems hyperbolic on my end but there's a bit in that video where the guy lets his hand get trapped. It genuinely hurts him and he struggles to free himself, and that's a grown man.

A toddler that's unsupervised for a few minutes could easily pop their head in something like that from curiosity and be badly hurt or even killed, I have two nieces with toddlers of their own that absolutely wouldn't be able to break that grip level.

Those things could quite easily kill a young child as much as a cat and it's not my being over the top by any measure. I know the forum is largely populated by grumpy, sarcastic middle aged to old farts, but by that metric I'd like to think you know there's a lot of young mothers out there that barely know what time of day it is and many of you probably have grandkids.

GD, I get it.
