Cat question

Collars are generally bad for them, it can irritate, cause hair loss around the neck, can snag on bushes/branches so either the collar gets ripped off, the cat chokes itself or brings back half a rose bush with it!

Just get them chipped :)

well latest I heard he's been seen by her mothers neighbours a few times this morning smelling things and generally annoying thier dogs! I'm hoping her mother can catch him but I'll be posting some posters down for her to put up anyway!

Thats a good sign then, hope the little fellow comes back safe and sound. :)

Get out and look mate as it's unlikely he will find his way back.
If he does then cover his feet with margarine. By the time he has licked it all off he would have transferred the new scent and will be sorted :)

Works on all cats that have been moved but odviously will need doing again when/if taken home.

Spot on. Worked every time with mine. It's something to to with them putting the scent onto their feet from licking them clean, then walking around on the floor. As you say the scent transfers. :)

It should really of gone to a cattery.
But hey ho, i've no idea what to say to help, when furbyson buggers off we dont start worrying till after a couple of days.

Why on earth would you want marge on it's feet, it would wreck the carpet, just keep the thing locked inside.

Anyway, the cat would claw your eyes out if you got the knife out and attempted to smear utterly butterly on it's paws.

Cats normally need 6-8 weeks indoors in a new house before they will think of it as home. Until they think of it of home they are very unlikely to return. As has been said there are some very rare occassions which they will return to their old home, this can take up to 6 months though according to some of the tabloid articles.

Not necessarily. Cats are very sensitive to changes in environment, especially new cats being around them. A cattery can stress them out badly, which can cause the cat to not eat and even become aggresive when it isn't normally.

I picked my cats up a couple of hours ago from my dad and apparantly they acted as normal and got spoiled rotten! I'd definately rather take them back to him than put them in a cattery.

don't have carpet, have a wooden floor - brings out the shine lovely :p

And besides, you open the butter tub and the cats are your dearest friends. You put butter on their feet, you've got a friend for life :)
