Fed up with cat mess in our garden, we have a lawn were our daughter plays and seems the neighbourhoods cats seem to see it as an apt place to do their business...

Other then suggestions like air rifles/land mines what humane methods have people used sucsessfully?

I have seen these pest eye battery powered devices as seen here

Thank you for any suggestions :)

we got similar products off the rainforest. We started with one and added a second when we saw how effective the first had been.

It was amusing to see the cats reaction the first time they came across it, now the cats avoid going through our garden.

Best solution is get a cat a big nasty one then your garden will be it's territory and the others won't come into it and cats don't mess in their own territory generally.

Posted on another thread recently about these plastic strips with spikes you can put on fencing/walls to stop cats getting in. May not help but if you have an enclosed rear garden they work brilliantly.

Mouse traps. Spread 1,000 of them on the lawn and borders!!

We suffer with cat poo in garden. I always throw it back over the fence to our neighbour who has a few cats!! Ewwwwwww

I have been tortured by cats leaving their disgusting mess in the garden. Tried coffee grounds, citrus, ultrasonic devices and throwing the **** back into the owners yard but none of it worked. The ultrasonic deterrents worked for a week then the cats must have become familiar with them. I gave up and covered all the flower beds in slate. The garden no longer has any exposed soil and they don't seem to bother with the lawn. So far it has been effective although they still urinate in one flower bed, killing anything that tries to grow!

Same for us, bought one to start with, it worked pretty well so now got 4 zoning off the garden. The little felines got smart and walked around the first one, ( after trying to attack it first! ). No more cat doodoo on our lawn.

Looks like Amazon do two for £25.

Chilli powder, tobasco, engine oil...they don't seem to be fans. Spraying water over them every time they look at the garden, throwing their mess back into the neighbours garden near their bbq decking. Lots and lots of options. The next step was to physically remove said cat, but they seemed to stop before it got that far.
