Hi all

I am after some good quality Cat5e patch cables as I have bought 2 and both of them have been bad quality. I am not to sure what good patch cables you can get that are built to the Cat5e spec as there seems to be many companies' ripping people of with poor twisted none shielded none copper cables.

any help would be great

thanks

A standard Cat5e cable won't be shielded

Quite. I forgot to add about that in my own reply. OP you don't want shielded, unless you already have a reason and you know why you need it. Shielded cables require grounding and bring their own issues when not done properly - including attracting more interference. Unless your home is also a power station and the cable is being run through the reactor core, just run regular 100% copper UTP cable.

cheers all, I used to buy Belkin but a lot of places seem not to sell it or out of stock. sorry i meant none shielded all copper twisted.

I did find the Connectix cat5e is the only one that states it uses pure copper cores wheres the Esscable does not. but there out of stock to.

I mean, I haven't bought that exact cable from them, but I've been buying from them for at least 15 years and I've never had the slightest problem. I've even chased their cables into my walls, so must trust them!!
