Get yourself a few meters of cable and practice. It’s a skill, but it’s one you can learn.
And it can be cheaper to get someone in terminate the connections. The first 2-3 hours in labour terms are paid for in terms of not having to buy £100 worth of tools.
I purchased all the tools (including the cable tester) you recommended and had a go tonight and have a working test cable! It's significantly shorter than it was and pretty messy at both ends but it works! Thanks WJA96
I found the hardest part (by far) was trying to get the cables in to the tiny little cable guide holder in the correct order. There must be an easier way!? I did find cutting the cables at an angle helped a bit.
The next step is to get the cables around the house in to some wall sockets. Can I use standard RJ45 wall sockets with CAT6A?
