Catalyst 10.2

Well i downloaded them in the vain hope of fixing the grey screen issue, it did, but it gave me a whole new colour screen, i now have a brown screen of vertical lines, it locks on that for a few seconds then flicks back to gameplay, it locks my whole system when it does it too

10.2 is official on the download page now, im trying the 8.703 ones now to see if it runs clean, if not im gonna reinstall windows 7 see if it is a conflict with my old nvidia drivers or something like that, after that its gonna be RMA card time

Well I have installed these on my 5850 and I have seen a definate improvement especially on Dirt 2. No more stuttering for me, very stable @61 fps on 1900x1200 ultra.

So you dont need to do the whole Driver Sweeper business like with NV drivers?

Sorry This is the first ATI card i've had since the 9800 Pro lol. :)

Nvidia have had what? You still have to wait for them to flip the SLI switch with a new driver. You can try doing it yourself but it rarely works right.

There's too many retards posting the whole "I'm off back to Nvidia" thing. I think they should all sod off and let everybody else get on with it.

sod off i aint ever had an nvidia card its pure fact their multi gpu is more consistant.

when they deem to set it up so that it works with your game, some titles are still waiting for support as the guy said you can try doing it yourself but it may or may not work some people (me included) get worse performance on certain titles when you used SLI.

Everything has its plus and minus points and everyone has their own point of view on these things.

The new power saving feature with 5850 cards in Xfire has dropped my system idle wattage from around 330W to 283W. Never expected it would have made that much of a difference going from 10.1 to 10.2.

Slight performance increase with unigine / 2x5770's in Crossfire@stock clocks :

10_2.jpg

Only odd thing is I get what looks like slowdown in unigine every 5-10secs, even though the fps don't show it. Don't remember seeing it with the 10.1 hotfix drivers iirc.

Anyone else get it

I've gone back to 9.12 drivers.

I fired up BC2 Beta and got a crash within a few mins, forcing the PC to reboot.

I'm getting a strange issue too, in both 10.1 and now 10.2 the card won't idle properly in 2d mode. The clocks keep jumping up to 3d speeds and the card (5770 vapor-x) idles at 44deg instead of 32. Anyone have any idea what's causing this ?

When i try and install them all I keep getting is this error.

You're not wrong TaKen, one strange thing i've noticed however is that it does idle properly in 32bit windows (I tried it earlier), but not in 64bit. I don't want to go back to 32bit though as 64 is actually starting to get better in many ways.
