isn't it just a "certified" 12.11? the upcoming betas are the interesting ones. i read an unconfirmed comment that amd realized it had made some mistakes in memory latencies/frame doodads and were working on fixes for the betas. much more excited for those (whatever memory latency mistakes mean)

Hell i love drivers more grand prix fans but i think these will just be 12.11 with a WHQL slapped on. Hope im wrong though and they fix a couple of the little niggles. As said before the next betas should be where its at, and by where i mean , actually i don't know what i mean. Do you?

you getting low frames on bf3 with 12.11 and caps? getting 70fps in some places on metro 64 player server

I've not played bf3 in nearly a month but no fps were fine when i last tried using 12.11.+caps.

70fps isn't that bad.

I think its the Aftermath maps that most people see frame drops they are very GPU Hungry!

1080p everything on low, seems bad to me... pretty sure it never used to drop!

Around flag A, mostly going up the stairs can drop my FPS a little under 60 if i'm on full Ultra GFX settings and the 64P server is full.

Overclocked 7870 / P-II x6 1090T @ 4.1Ghz

I know that part you talk of, i used to get similar fps when i had an 2500k. Upgrading to a 2700k added 10-15 fps in that part of the map.

Its a bit much for me to upgrade to an i7, would need a new MOBO as well, a straight like for like Intel MOBO replacement would be £180 alone.

Its like £400, a bit rich for me at the moment.

My Thuban is old and arthritic, but never the less holding up very well, i'm very proud of it.

I will get some younger and stronger muscle when i can afford it.

I hear you. I think its just battlefield 3 loves cores/threads. Four is not quite enough for optimal fps in all parts of the maps.

surely you can pick up a cheap used z68/z77 board humbug?the only thing i wouldnt buy used is the cpu unless i knew the person selling it ect

i'm re-installing bf3, as i used backup folder when i installed it this time... re-downloading and not using cloud storage! only thing i had changed from the last time.

I'm patiently waiting for these new drivers to arrive. I hope to be the first to post them, but with Finally around (on every forum known to man) i have no chance.

Certainly not on a Phenom II x4, i have seen them bottleneck a top end Kepler / GCN pretty convincingly.

I'm lucky in that i have 6 such cores and it can deal with BF3.

But given the IPC difference i think the 4 core i5 would do a lot better than the 4 core Phenom, i think the IPC difference is something like 30%.

Unfortunately i; A, don't do cheap Motherboards, i don't trust them. and, B, i don't do used, call it snobbery if you like

, i just like to know the Motherboard is quality and that i know whats happened to it in its life, and how its been used, or rather that it never has been.
