ATI Catalyst™ 9.10 Driver – What’s New?
I would like to thank Ian McNaughton for doing such a FANTASTIC job at informing and building the following that he has on AMD at Play. Ian has handed the reins of the blog covering our ATI Catalyst™ software suite over to me as he is focusing on adding more diverse content to AMD @Play blogs. Ian will still be monitoring this blog and will be engaging with the community where he can.
A little about me: I have been working in the GPU industry for approx 16 years, with most of that time at ATI Technologies doing many different jobs, from working in a lab testing for Hardware Qualification on ATI GPUS, to Product Marketing for ATI’s motherboard chipsets, to my current role as Public Relations Manager for AMD supporting reviews of our ATI GPUs and ATI Catalyst drivers.
The ATI Catalyst driver blogs have been gaining momentum, and interest is growing each and every month. The ATI Catalyst team is dedicated to keeping users informed about any and all updates on our drivers.
Between Windows 7, DirectX 11, and the new ATI Radeon™ GPUs, we are taking your visual experience to the next level with DirectX 11 support and new features like ATI Eyefinity technology. ATI Catalyst drivers are at the center of this innovation, driving new features and functions, while focusing on compatibility, and stability for all.
It is the ultimate tool for your GPU!
I have made you wait long enough – on to the ATI Catalyst™ 9.10 driver release!

As a 5870 owner they sound quite underwhelming to say we've waited a month for these.

Not really, they have added support for the cards and sorted any problems that have started to appear

To provide full support may take longer than you think + not many people will have been reporting bugs yet either so not too many bug fixes, I expected this lol everybody raving omg when we get the 9.10 performance should increase (which it may have a little) but I wouldn't expect more bug fixes, better performance/features until 9.11/9.12

For 4850 owners 9.8 was a good driver, 9.9 decreased performance quite a bit, I hope these 9.10 are better then 9.8 :P

Yeah I had a 4850 9.9's were lame :/ Since the 4xxx series has been out for a year you shouldn't expect too much more from the drivers in terms of performance, you may get the occasional game that has been improved apart from that you will just get bug fixes :D

So if these drivers are still fail should I just stick with the 9.8's

notice how a game name got starred out? thats so damn stupid. haha

Of course if a driver decreases performance you should always go back to the previous but not matter how old the graphics card is as long as its supported (not a legacy card) you should always update for bug fixes in drivers and catalyst control center

well these drivers look like an ultimate fail!! i was hoping atleast for some performance gains now there officially supported =[

You expect too much

I can't see how the download link is official 9.10 as they have yet to be released, the download links have yet to be changed so your upload must be inccorect, they should release before the end of the day (remember they work USA times, so it will always be later in Uk and Europe)

Well, my performance has increased quite abit in Batman and Crysis. No FPS drops using AA ;)

They should be 9.10.. That's what the file's called,...

Plus, I've now got super sample AA.. Which is added in 9.10..

How come their not up on the amd/ati site as of yet?

cheers

They haven't updated the links yet which has actually happened for the past few drivers releases. I found the drivers earlier on as I knew they were due for release today, so I changed the URL for the 9.9 drivers to include 9.10 and downloaded using a download manager.

Windows Vista/Windows 7 32/64bit and Windows XP 32bit download links are available here.

The drivers are up, they upload them to their servers ready, before updating the main page, as is normal.

People have just gotten the drivers off the ATi servers, and uploaded them to rapidshare and what not, so you can grab them before they go live (main page gets updated with them). :)

You can also grab them off their servers yourself if you want, you just have to copy the direct link to the 9.9 drivers to a new window/tab, change it from 9.9 to say 9.10, but you have to clear your cookies also, otherwise you get an unauthorised download leech page that wont let you grab em.

beenn waiting for ages for these as 9.9s crashed in cod 4 for me strange as they were quite a lot smoother in some games than 9.8
