When installing new ATI drivers, I just download the display driver and install it, with out any of the extra's.

Now that ATI release a seperate application profile exe file, do I need to install that too, or is it included in the display driver?

Are the application profiles not contained in the display driver?

No idea what they are tbh, you'd think the amount of beta/official drivers ATI release they wouldn't need additional profiles but I assume they do contain improvements otherwise why would they release them?

It's a bit of a mess really, much like the 10.6's. :p

Had no problems with the 10.6 drivers myself.

The application profiles just include newer profiles than the ones included in the drivers and should be installed as well.

When the application profiles are installed should you be able to see them in CCC? I've just got a second 4890 for BC2 and the performance isn't quite what i expected...i've installed the latest profiles from the ATI page buit don't see anything when i open up the profiles manager - can someone help me out please?

# I don't see anything under CCC - Profiles? Did it fail?

Catalyst Application Profiles are Driver profile updates, not user profiles. You won't see anything under CCC - Profiles that you don't create.
