So i've done a fresh install of windows installed all the drivers for my motherboard and then install my ATi (6.6) drivers - they install fine then after restart I get a CLI.exe - Application error.

Now i've had this happen with previous versions of the cats aswell so I used the Omega ones and they ran fine. Why are the cats giving me trouble?

Running:
Abit AV8
9800pro
1gig GEiL
3000 Venice

NET framework 2.0 is installed

You need 1 and 1.1 Installed as well

CCC doesnt like just .Net 2.0

is this just with ccc ?

i.e. can i install the drivers only and ditch ccc ?

Yep you can install drivers without CCC, TBH I dont find CCC to bad.
But I use ATi Tray Tool to launch game profiles and custom fan speeds, so I don't bother with CCC.
