I just got a 3870 in the post to crossfire with my 3850...but the catalyst control center won't start.

I've uninstalled the drivers completely, uninstalled .net framework 1.1, run driversweeper, and reinstalled but the screen turns black during catalyst install, so I waited til the hd light stopped blinking and then shut down the computer using alt-f4.

Upon reboot I get the following message:

Yet, as you see Crossfire is enabled and I tested CoD4 and crossfire is definitely working, it's quite a bit faster than my voltmodded 8800GTS 512mb was.

However, my issues are:

-Unable to access CCC so I can't change 3d settings and such
-Rivatuner only shows 1 adapter :( so I can only overclock the 3870 and not my 3850 which is pencil modded and good for 960 core.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times now, but get the same problems.

oh, and the operatiing system is Server 2008 32 bit, essentially Vista 32

have you tried using ati tray tools? not sure how to fix CCC as it crashes all the time for me so i stopped using it.

also if you know what clocks your 3850 can run at stable then you might want to bios flash those clocks on to the card.

That normally happeneds when the Os has fallen back to the MS drivers.

ok well I got it working under XP x64 now at least, but now even though both gpu-z and ccc say crossfire is enabled, it doesn't seem to be working!

Only 1 gpu heats up in a 3dmark06 run. How can i fix this?

:P Turns out I need to set the catalyst AI to standard, I had it disabled. Didn't know that as I'm a multi-gpu newb.

ended up solving all my own problems but thanks for trying guys :)
