I have a vague memory in the back of my mind that says you're only allowed to talk about games that are released in the UK otherwise the powers that be might think you've pirated something ?
Did I just make that up ?

Anyway, the PS3 is multi-regional and Catherine is released in America soooo I'm gonna go ahead and post anyway :)

SO !!!

I came to a horrible conclusion last night while playing Catherine.

It might be a **** game :(

Let me be clear.
I love the production values, the kooky style, the uniqueness, the characters, the art, the moral decisions you have to make, the plot. I love almost everything about it apart from the actual game :/

Those god damn blocks are (insert strong expletive)
At first I thought I might just be **** at it, so I checked out some online vid solutions to see if there was any obvious technique I was missing. There isn't.
As far as I am concerned, it's just a case of luck and repetition that gets you through the levels. The narrator at the beginning of each level might as well just say "Try randomly pushing and pulling blocks until you fluke your way to the top"

So do I still enjoy 'Catherine' ?
Hell yeah.
Is it a good game ?
Of that I am not convinced !!!

It does seem pretty thing on the game play sides of things.

If you place it into a puzzle genre alone, then yes, it's pretty poor and repetitive.

But overall, as a package, it's a bloody good game :)

Pretty damn sure it's fine in this case, AS the PS3 is multi region. You could always post a pic for belts and braces.

BUT what isn't fine is you didn't fully star your swearing in the opening post, so could you please adjust accordingly :)

'tis now starred !! :)

Hmmm..... thought more people would be interested in discussing the kookyness that is Catherine tho.
Maybe because it's not out yet in the uk ?

Oh well :)

I would get it if it was out over here, not one I'm bothered enough about to import though really. The demo was good :D

I do think the actual gameplay is the worst bit though, I'd be dreading the gameplay and looking forward to the cut-scenes and dialogue :p

That's kinda where I am now.
"Ohhh man, another puzzle, please God, just let me fluke this as fast as possible so I can get to the good stuff" :D

I'm intrigued by this but also know i'd be mocked to hell and back if my girlfriend saw the case.

Is it as pervy and creepy-japanese-eroness orientated as it looks to be?

Watched the trailers. I think my brain is bleeding 0_o This looks insane!
If I see it cheap somewhere someday I may try it, but don't think I'll buy on UK release...

Its not so pervy yet.
Although you do get lots of 'side-boob' and such :)

My advice, this is definitely a rental first as the demo really doesn't give you an accurate view on how annoying the puzzles get :D

I will pick this up but not for the RRP. I can see this hitting the £17.99 mark fast. Plus with the PS Vita and The Last Story out soon, this will be one I buy towards the end of the year.

The game comes outs this Friday 10th Feb, so i think i might get it. I've looked at reviews and its getting high marks and does looks like a fun game to play. Also its good to try out different games then sticking to the same stuff!

Only on the 2nd stage (My stray sheep edition showed up on Wednesday) but I’m likening the game far more than i was expecting, once you go the hang of the puzzle mechanics it becomes very satisfying to play. In short rubik's cube haters this might not be for you.
