Cat's mini(ITX) Ryzen 5 review!

Like I said Fallout 4 is finicky so I need to test each step with proper gameplay to make sure it is rock solid and that takes time and so does benchmarking and doing the graphs. I do between 10 to 20 runs after each memory change then another 30 minutes of running around the map to make sure I don't get any more bugs.Once that happens it will be memory tested for a few hours since I can't afford any memory instability at all. Even the DxO test is short - 50 pictures takes 20 minutes. I can have a few 100 being processed.

Aaaaaaaand I CBA. Went through adjusting settings and SOC voltages, etc per the flowchart thingy starting with the SAFE settings. Either DxO or Fallout 4 crashes and I even had a BSOD or two(which I have not had before) as these are very sensitive to RAM instability. I honestly CBA faffing around running tests to check stability, after each settings change to just get a extra FPS or for a job to complete a bit quicker. I spent enough time benchmarking and testing stuff this week, and I am honestly getting a bit sick of it!! :p I have not even had a chance to properly run some games on the system, and have to reinstall most of my other games too.

So maybe at some point,I will spend more time tweaking stuff, but its going back to the fallback settings as these seem stable(so far).

The performance jump is good enough for me,so it will do!! :p

Quick Q; what was the software / link you used to confirm your RAM's details / technical specs in your second post?

I recall it being mentioned before but can't for the life of me remember what it is / what it was called.

Trying to tweak the RAM on my test bench as right now it is being a PITA and not posting with the Teamgroup stuff from my Intel system

Hey, is the Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING got good enough VRMs for the 2700 or the 2700x? Always fancied a SFF build but didn't know if they ickle boards were man enough for full fat 8 core CPUs?

All of this makes me think a Ryzen 1+/2 based APU next year could be a nice little replacement for my ITX Haswell machine, without needing to replace my admittedly pretty jank case and PSU.
AMD integrated should be up there with a 1030 or maybe 1050 by then, and at current GPU prices for low profile might as well upgrade the entire thing! As a 1050 low profile is silly money (same as the CPU inc RX Vega graphics), might as well get the faster RAM, Mobo with newer options and faster CPU for the money...

Yep, so couple that with the next revisions of APU, and the higher specced model should be a nice little uptick, at a not ridiculous price if I stick with 8GB DDR or even if I buy smart on 16GB

When you consider the next gen or revision of APU can't be that far off, think that'll make a lot of sense for a media machine/all purpose machine for many people.

Why spend £100+ for a half decent low profile GFX card, when the above contains an even faster GPU, and a much faster CPU than any but most recent I3s, unless you're on rock bottom budget? Pretty perfect for an ITX allrounder build.

I tried Planetside 2 and in the large battles with 150~300 people,I used to go as low as 20FPS~25FPS with the Xeon E3 1230 V2,but with the Ryzen 5 2600 it is between 35FPS~40FPS at worse, and there is much less stuttering.
