I suppose flashing your lights though might allow the sensor on the lights to see you quicker and start changing the priorities around?

I think its all bull. Flashing your light will alert the sensor but it works on a far simpler principle than most of you are implying!

It's just so ridiculous these days..

From this thread, I have to say, I will never again do anything that may be deemed unsafe to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle.. i.e. speed, edge over the line at red lights..

I believe it would overnight becaome the most popular defence in the country if it ever succeeded. The unofficial advice from the plolice is to hold you hand up to show that you've seen the emergency vehicle, but stay at a legal speed until you can pull in/over. There is no simple answer here: would it be appropriate for me to hit ninety miles an hour in a thirty to get out of the way for instance? If not, then what speed is OK?

LOL... the usual speeding = unsafe single rule being applied there.. the word is 'safe'.. it may well under the circumstances be safe to speed appropriately, and thats the word 'appropriately'... something speed camera's can't differentiate and neither it appears can the law..
