Hey guys first of all I'm still in my first 2 years of driving so six points means I will lose my licence and I was caught speeding 2 months ago, but as it was my first offence I was offered a drivers awareness course for £100 to erase the 3 points I would have recieved which I took up and am due to attend on the 21st of this month! What I would like to know is what would happen if I was to be caught speeding again before I do the course? Would i still be able to do the course and just have to take 3 points and a £60 fine or would the course be cancelled and my licence revoked?

And no I haven't been caught again, but I'm driving like an old carpping myself as there's a lot of mobile speed cameras around here :D

Thanks.

prolly have to take the awareness course and then have the 3 points taken off,, then get another 6 for speeding again and be up to 9 points lol :P

You have not received the points offset by the drivers awareness course so you would only get the 3 points for the new speeding offence.

As long as you turn up at the course you will not receive the points.

Maybe you should just start driving within the speed limits?! No need to worry then.

Totally answered the OPs question with that response, whilst true it's rather unhelpful.

OP, you will just get the 3 for the latest offence, providing you have your licence to hand in to the station.

I'd have thought after being caught once, then you'd have learned from that one, especially after having your license less than 2 years! Yes, as long as you turn up for the speed awareness course you won't get those points. I suggest you start driving 5mph under the speed limit now :P

Indeed, dekez has given the ultimate long term solution but not the answer.

Should be 3 points although doesn't it depend on which county this is in to whether they revoke the points offset of the course if you are caught speeding wihin a set timeframe?

no, if you take the course, you don't get any points. I don't think repeat offence within a timeframe matters here (unless banned) :p

It's a separate offence, so will be 3 points + £60. The 3 points from your offence two months ago will be forgotten about if you attend and pass the course (Basically don't be an arse). There's a repeat offence time frame of 3 years (at least there is for Careless Driving) whereby you will not be offered the course again for the same offence.

The speed awareness course is simply a small lecture, a friend said it wasn't half as bad as he first thought.

You can only do one course every 3 years to get out of receiving points.

You may get lucky (like me) where you get caught again whilst waiting to attend the course and get offered another one and get no points :D

Cheeky!

Speeding kills.

That is all.

I got caught speeding again while waiting to go on the course, I just got the 3 points for the second offence and still got to go on the speed awareness course.

How difficult are these speed awareness courses? Like the theory test or do.you just have to sit throughg a lecture?

It's not an exam of anything, they just talk at you loads and you have to come up with the reasons for you speeding (being late etc) and a solution (better timekeeping etc). Basically don't act like an arse and you will 100% pass.

speed awareness is ROFL, its an easy way to dodge 3 points though

its so god damn cheesy, just pretend like you give a **** and you will do fine, one guy in mine did a massive wheelspin out the car park at the end, genuine LOL from me

Thats BS.

Point 1. Its not breaking the speed limit that can kill people. Its speed inappropriate for the conditions. Doing 70mph on the motorway in a monsoon leaving the highway code prescribed stopping distance is far far more dangerous than doing 80mph on a clear summers day on an empty motorway

Point 2. Its not the speeding that kills, its the stopping that generally tends to kill people :p
