My local Asian supermarket has caustic soda on the lower shelf easily accessed by children. I've spoken to them about putting it on a higher shelf several times but they've done nothing about it. How would you deal with this?

I would get on with my day and make sure my children do not carry the tools/scissors to get into a childproof and sealed bottle of caustic soda but then again, i just want to watch the world burn

You dont allow your children to play with sharp and dangerous objects? Poor kids, back in my day we were playing with knifes and electrical sockets.

It'll be in a child proof bottle, no?

Don't see what the issue is. There are plenty of products in supermarkets accessible to children that you wouldn't want to actually give to children.

And just the other day i saw white spirit on the lower shelf in B&Q and thought, that's just wrong i must inform someone. Pretty sure my local wickes keeps the cement low down as well imagine if a child started snorting that.

What is wrong with people these days, if your child starts opening random items and consuming them, that's your fault no one elses.

I went to Parker's garden centre the other day and saw sand, soil, compost all on the floor and a variety of plants, shrubs etc kept on ground level too. I spoke to the manager about putting these on a higher shelf as they can be accessed by children and he just told me stop being a plant pot.

Child-proof lids on bottles have never once prevented a child from opening them. They have prevented many hungover adults from opening paracetamol bottles...

Ban them and let Darwinian Theory reign supreme.

I hate it when irresponsible parents take their 2 year old kids to ikea. They lose track of them for 30 secs and boom, all of a sudden you have a badly assembled bedside table with the wrong length screws used and a few leftover plugs

If parents do their job and watch their children this would be a non-issue, but apparently in this day and age its everyone else’s responsibility to look after said child

If you look closely enough, there's probably some bubblewrap and parcel tape on the lowest shelf nearby (next to the anti butthurt cream - just in case). You can use this to wrap any children in to prevent injury. :p

Jeez, what about those parks and open spaces? There's trees that begin on ground level. What if a child put two and two together and decided to climb up one?
