......is that I can get neither of them to run on my system. I've searched for two days on possible solutions on this, but there are so many different opinions on "fixes"....well that's why I'm here.
I installed GPU tweak because CCC would no longer run.

After installing CCC - it doesn't show up in services, and I've tried different versions, none of which work.

Graphics card is HD6950 - mobo is P9X79pro - O/S is Windows 7 home premium with all updates applied.

Any sanity saviours out there? Thanks in advance.

Hi OptimaLnrg - thanks for replying.
Am trying that now as we speak - erm - type. Having to use Treexy driver fusion and I've set it to delete everything AMD. Still puzzling that GPU tweak won't run either - makes me lean towards something I'm not doing, and not a fault in the programs.

Edit. Now I've uninstalled all things AMD - GPU tweak has appeared telling me to load GPU drivers.

Ok I see, thanks. :)

Have completely re-installed CCC - won't run.
Have completely re-installed Gpu tweak - won't run.

CCC is not showing up under "Services".......(should it?).....nor under "programs".
Gpu tweak IS showing up under "programs".

Edit: Now being informed that Catalyst Control Centre host application has stopped working.

I had this trouble when installing 12.8, i have to boot into safe mode and strip everything amd/ati out and then rebooted into windows and installed. But even after install it took 2 attempts to get ccc to install and show up. After that i reinstalled and updated asus tweak and all seems to be working but I plan to reinstall windows at some point so everything is fresh.

Un install every thing ATI/AMD/CCC,
go in your main drive folders delete every thing (same as above),
Down load an install CCleaner.
Do a registry check an tick fix issues.
Run again about 10-15 seconds after first check for errors.
Install CCC of choice.
Sounds like you have some bad registry files which are corrupt.

@Setsuna and CyberCrow.
Many thanks for that. Funnily enough, Setsuna, it's after the update to 12.8 that this issue started, and what CyberCrow said about corrupt registry files makes sense and would explain why subsequent earlier versions of CCC I attempted to install wouldn't run either.

Will post results, assuming I'm sober!!

Edit: Having read another thread on here, I think after I've done what you guys suggest, I'll start with a clean install of an earlier version of CCC and then update one step at a time and see if the problem reproduces itself.

Result: Pass me the bottle, please.

Having followed all the steps as advised, and having started with CCC v. 12.4 - it will not run, and neither will a clean install of GPU Tweak. I have full admin rights on the system.

I do believe I'm looking at a bottle or two of Jack Daniels and a reformat on Sunday.

Thanks everyone for your input - much appreciated.
