Ok Guys

Below is a screen dump of the result that CCleaner gave me for some registry entires (There is two screen dumps just cropped and put together so you can see the whole page).

Is it safe for me to delete the following entries as they refer to C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\system32.

This is my sisters computer, it is fairly old but running XP, Service Pack 2, 533Mhz Processor with 512Mb RAM.

Any advice appreciated ;)

I can't say for sure whether it would be safe but i can say for sure that i use Ccleaner on auto clean & just hit the magic button. I've Never had a problem with it myself. If you are unsure then just save or chest it or whatever the option is & then delete it. If all is well after next boot up then delete it for good.
Once you have Ccleaned then defrag & there is a point in doing it.

You do get a chance to save any changes to the registry as you delete the entries you have listed. I usually bung this backup in the c:\program files\ccleaner directory for safe keeping, never had to use it though.

Go on stick yer kneck out:D

I agree - make sure you use the backup option and then just restore should problems arise in the future.

delete them, if they're missing then your registry just has pointless entries in it, probably from a crap uninstaller that came with old programs that were once on the machine
