This is not correct info. No service is running even when the app is open. I'm assuming you saw a service running because you had auto update check or something turned on.

You are right i miss remembered. It sets up two scheduled tasks instead.

Ah yes, those two are an update checker and crash reporter. Crash reporter is obviously ad-hoc, update checker is typically on launch (user setting in the app) - Just disable/delete as needed.
