CCleaner - why weekly updates?

It seems that every time I use CCleaner it informs me that a new version is available.

In God's name, why

So far as I can tell it offers no additional functionality and I suspect that the real reason is that the new owners (Avast and its infamous inclusion of the Floxif trojan a couple of years back) do "deals" with software providers and websites quietly to overlook their cookies and sell on harvested data. CCleaner has also tended to "offer" other software - e.g. Google Chrome.

Bring back Piriform!

Give BleachBit a go. Got rid of Ccleaner a while back for a similar reason, just seems to be adding more and more annoyances. Packing other software in the installation and turning monitoring oh by default so it constantly runs in the background.

CCleaner seems to have turned into bloatware itself, somewhat ironically. Even the Android version which used to be useful for cleaning out large app caches etc seems to be trying to do so much more than just what it was originally intended for.

They seem to release about one update a month which doesn't sound unreasonable?
