CCNA/CCNP Home Lab

Search completed 3550 auctions on the Bay, last few went for 500-600.

Maurilio, one of the CCIE proctor's (I forget which site, I think he's in Brussells) has been hosting a Q&A session on the cert forums recently for the R&S lab.

"1. By the end of 2006 we are planning to have 3725s and 3825s routers. Think about having at least 4 to 6 routers per rack. Anything beyond that will be excellent. Regarding the IOS we will go with 12.4 mainline - Advanced Enterprise Services feature set. Think about having the latest image available.

2. Currently we have 3550s switches which were announced to be end of life this May, 2006. I'd suggest you have at least 2 switches per rack and to think about having 3560s or 3750s. Also look into IOS 12.2 mainline - Advanced IP Services feature set."

Not too bad, I've known for ages that they've been ditching 2600s and moving to 3700s, 3800s and 2800s.. which is fine.. comes as no suprise that they're thinking to move to 3550s simply because they've gone end of life...

Thanks anyway..
