I've just completed the ccna academy, and the 4 end of semester tests with my college along with my alevels, but I'm not sure whether to get certified. I found the course fun mainly because I was with a lot of friends in the course, but I've just tried doing some revision this last week on my own for the certificate, and I'm getting no where with it, mainly because I find it extremely boring. My question is would it be worth booking the test? Will employers not take into consideration that I did the course and semester tests?

Cheers.

I got bored by semester 4 and have certification for the first 3 semesters. I moved onto more interesting things such as a masters in computer forensics :D At the end of the day its a certification and you can never have too many qualifications which will help you stand out from other applicants for future jobs you may apply for. I say even tho you find it boring you should do it mate!

Hey cheers for the reply...
When you say you have certification for the first 3 semesters, are they the end of CCNA x exam tests? The test im considering booking is the 640-801 at a test centre. I've already got the end of semester certifiactes that my college gave me.

EDIT: no offence taken jollygreen its 100% true, I am too lazy, I just dont want 2 years of work to be a complete waste!

I didn't think you could get certified for just the first 3 semesters. You can either get certified for CCNA1 and 2 by doing the INTRO exam, or do the whole thing by doing the ICND 640-801.

Nothing to lose by taking the test, except for the money it costs to take the test. You should give it a go.

I say this every time a CCNA thread comes up.

You're certified when you pass the exam, you don't need to do the academy stuff. It's like a driving test, you can take it without having any formal tuition whatsoever.

It may get you ahead of someone who's never seen a 6509, but until you have the piece of paper you won't get too much.
