I've got a 6 CD changer in the boot of my Peugeot 306. It's useful and convenient but it has it's off days where it's really temperamental when it comes in contact with the tiniest bumps. Sometimes I can drive for hours and it wont skip once, on the other hand it can skip constantly to even the slightest bump in the road. I've tried new CDs so they're perfectly clean and not scratched at all but it still does what it wants :(

I bought the car with it in and I think this is the exact one: http://www.addacdchanger.co.uk/CD_Products/Aftermarket_CD_Changers/Kenwood_KDC-C469/Compatibility

Is there any way improve this?

Edit: Argh, this was meant to be in motors... Can this get moved please? Thanks.

A simple idea: has it been left in the suspension lock mode they normally have for transportation through the retail system before being fitted to the car?

I have absolutely no idea. Any ideas of how I could check?

An oil-damped suspension system virtually eliminates skipping

Apparently not :(

Thanks.

Here you go: http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/42/5/KDC-C469-669.pdf

Page 10 shows that there are 3 transportation screws on the bottom of the device.
It also shows two rotation adjustment knobs, one on either side of the device.
Page 12 shows how the device should be fitted in case you need to remove it to check the transport screws.

Brilliant mate, cheers. Will give that a blast and will report back :D
