CD / DVD drawers , cant find them anywhere anymore..

So you're looking for a drawer to put on a shelf to put in a cupboard. Could you not have written that in your op :o

What he's referrng to is a unit that has the drawers pull out, the idea is that if you've got a deep shelf you can stack them/pull the drawer out and get to the ones at the back easily.

There is little point in having DVD's and CD's on shelves that mean you have to clear the front rows to get to the ones you want, so a drawer or tray that pulls forward makes full use of the depth of the unit, whilst still giving easy access to the discs.
It's a little like the pan drawers in a kitchen cupboard or workshop tool chest drawers, sure you could just have a shelf but to get to the stuff at the back you'd need to clear things out of the way, so you pull it out.

When I finally finish getting the hall and main bedroom done at my place, one of the long term goals is to redo my computer/hobby area with either custom shelving/book cases, or possibly modified store bought ones with full extension cabinet runners holding either some shelves or similar to house my Blu-rays :)
I did some drawer type units years ago which I was fairly happy with, but there were definite improvements to be made, especially as blu-ray cases are slightly smaller and I'm thinking of the DJ case style wallets on runners inside the drawers for standard DVD's (IU've already moved about 500+ DVD's to djcases which work ok, but don't stack so it's harder to get to the contents).

Something like these I think
