Possibly, but it would have been commercial suicide for AMD to have been sitting around on their thumbs these past two years letting their AMD64s clean up and not doing anything bar upping the multiplier and building a new socket.

But then, sillier things have happened. Albeit to bigger companies that can actually afford to sit around and do nothing... AMD do not have sufficient market share.

So its back to intel I go. Only been errrr 7 years?

First cpu I had was a celeron 400. Been with AMD since the duron 700.

Damn now I will have to learn how to overclock these new chips.
