You can still get buckling spring model-m keyboards made almost exactly the same as the originals.I loved those IBM keyboards, you could smash them all week long and they'd still beg for more.
lol. I have been a couple of times (to the computer museum - I lived in Cambridge so been there quite a bit ) they have a lot of decent events on with gaming sessions and talks from people. sensible software Vs bitmap brothers was a good one.Called Cambridge.
ffs.........
as someone who is from up north originally I resent that commentits up north ?

I greatly preferred the National Museum as there is a lot of much older stuff on show there - and not just Colossus. Had a great discussion about old germanium transistors with one of the volunteers restoring an old Ferranti computer there one Saturday afternoon. Probably depends on what day you go, though, as it depends on who's available that day. Probably also whether you're looking more for history than nostalgia. Both places are great, though - and well worth a visit - they do London proud!I went to the National Museum of Computer in the London Borough of Bletchley today - wasn't as interesting, although seeing a Cray & Colossus was pretty cool. Not anything like as hands-on, although they did have a few machines out to play on. Was a bit disappointed tbh.
The code-breaker bit - the main museum - was fab though. I'll you all updated on my wanderings around London.

It's north of London therefore it is simply considered up North I'm afraid. You are all irrelevant and generally are referred to geographically as to how far from London one is.
Anyway...
That computer show looks cool... for people like us. Can you imagine dragging the Mrs round there though?
