CES 2022

Take with a pinch of salt as the video is sponsored by Samsung...

The colors looked good but.. I can't put any value on it because it's a Samsung demo. Have to wait for real reviews using two calibrated panels.

The only 2 bits of good data I could find in the video is:

* QD-OLED has crazy good G2G like normal OLED - LCD gaming monitors are dead, there is no hope for them. You'll see all competitive gamers will switch to QD-OLED this year and next

* The brightness may not be up to what some people wanted. The QD-OLED TVs and gaming monitors all peak at 1000nits in a small window and 200nits in full screen window. So basically the brightness is about the same as LG OLED TVs on paper - the gaming monitors will have an advantage as all other OLED gaming monitors to date peak way lower than 1000 Nita. So even though an QD-OLED TV will be no brighter than an LG OLED, the QD gaming monitors will be brighter than any LG or JOLED gaming monitors to date

Are there likely to be any 48" QD-OLED.

Doubtful this year. Samsung conference is 2.30am our time so see what they say, maybe they will do a complete mix.

Would still be mega expensive though going on rumours. Reckon a 48" could easily be over 3k at the start!

This seems to be the thing at CES - companies also announced routers that have motorized antennas that move around with you as you walk around your home so the signal is always targeting you. This will be the same idea; trying to beam sound to your ears so that you can still hear as you walk around your home.

These products seem to be targeting people who work from home.

here is another one, an ultra light portable projector and speaker that can almost fit in your pocket - aka with this you can have an office anywhere, even in your toilet. Meet the Samsung Freestyle:

Weighing in at just 800 grams, it it can projector a screen up to 100 inches in size, it can swivel and rotate 180 degrees and also includes auto leveling. It has a built in speaker and when not used a screen projector it can be used to create RGB light effects
