I have heard so many horror stories about cex i wouldn't ever buy anything from them.
one of the worst ones i heard was a friend purchased a xb360 from local store got it home dvd drive didn't read any discs so took it back straight away he lives 10 min walk away they claimed to do proper testing they need it left with them for hour so he did this.
Goes back hour later and they had only just finished testing it coming out with it needs update over xbox live and he asked why they couldn't do that then they said they are not allowed and refused him refund/excahnge.
He took it back home and connected it to xbox live guess what it was banned.
Went back to the shop and they claimed he had tampered with it he asked how they said ms tamper stickers are missing well yes they was because cex had replaced them with there own ones.
The problem with stores is that the people selling you the items are probably the same ones that accepted them. They have plenty of incentive to shift the blame onto you. Obviously that doesn't mean all employees would do that.
i have bought loads of cpus from them and they get it wrong all the time. i love it cos its like a lucky dip! sometimes i get a pentium 4 instead of a c2d and other times i've ended up with a c2q for 1/10th of the price . also they send them all from different stores so i can stock up on packaging materials. a few 50p cpus and you get free padded envelopes and small bubble wrap bags to send stuff in. its great
Haven't had any problems with CeX yet, bought my Xperia SP (cost me like £80) from them 2 or so years ago, worked better than my gf's brand new one Still fine, occasional lag here and there, but I'm not risking anything £100+ in there. You must've had some idiots dealing with you, they're everywhere
