Hi,

I currently own 2 16GB CF SanDisk cards but they are the 60MB /s ones as far as I am aware. My camera is Canon 50D, now sometimes when shooting in sports mode and doing multiple shots the camera hangs and the red read/write light comes on. Is this because the card is not fast enough or am i trying to take to many shots?

I have seen 90MB /s cards but they are really expensive, thoughts welcome thanks.

Do you shoot RAW or JPEG?

If you shoot JPEG, it should allow a longer burst than you will get with RAW before the buffer fills up.

If you had really slow cards then upgrading them would help but in this case, not - as your cards are already quick. It will be the camera buffer and camera write speed. 60mb/s cards are pretty quick, with the next step up being the very pricey 90mb/s but I very much doubt you'll see any difference.

Like I say, your camera will be the weak link here I'm afraid :(

Always had good results with my Sandisk Extreme 3 cards.

Perhaps a little more expensive then the rest, but worth the money in my opinion.

The OP cards are faster than Extreme 3. They are 60mb/s so either the new Extreme cards or something similar. Extreme 3 are quite old and only 30mb/s and not UDMA (or whatever it's called) cards either, so a step backwards for the OP. Extreme 3's are two generations old in tersm of speed from the Sandisk range.
