Morning guys, put together a simple CF-IDE setup for my laptop last night using *Online Auction Site* components but couldnt get it to detect the card in the bios. It's only a bit of an experiment, so I'm not looking to buy an SSD solution, especially as the the IDE ones are so expensive compared to SATA. I was wondering if anyone else has attempted something similar and could offer any advice? Cheers!

Have a good look at the card/adapter.I got one to play with a year or so back and had all sorts of problems,in the end i pricked my finger on the card and had a closer look at it and found a jumper.Changed jumper and then i could use it
Might be worth a go
(I never thought it was any faster though, did not seem to be to me anyway)

Yeah I've tried all the settings on the jumper, no luck unfortunately. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the card supporting 2 IDE channels when the laptop is only expecting one.
