Chair Mats

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good chair mat for use on carpet?

I bought a 3mm PVC floor mat that has had some consistent daily use over the last 6 months and it now has multiple cracks running through the length of it where the chair feet roll.

It wasn't necessarily a cheap one (~£25) so was hoping it would last longer than it has.


I've read polycarbonate resists cracking but is this true? I don't think my carpet pile is too deep, approx 3-4mm.

I’ve used a floortex polycarbonate mat for around 6 years now and it’s still in great shape. The only reason I’m considering replacing it is I’m changing desk setup so need a slightly bigger one.
