I'm in the market for a new chair also, so i'm looking forward to seeing some serious suggestions. My £35 viking one buggs me senseless. I pulled the wheels of it because they creak, the leather seat is ripped and the gas lift thing won't hold the seat up anymore.

I had an argos chair that did exactly the same thing, I took it back, and I have to say I looked like and felt like a total wally carrying htat thing from one end of town to another, dumped it there told them it was useless and they promtply gave me another

Now this one is starting to make strange noises, grrrr.

Did you have a receipt, because mine is from argos, but buyer has chucked the receipt, grrr

No I didn't, but I had a bank statement which proved I bought it from them, they just matched my card number to the date on my bank statement.
