Hi,

Well I got some door handles for my custom sub box that I am making. Well I didn't think this one through until now, but then it dawned on me. You screw the handles on from inside the sub box, but the only way to get inside the box is by takign the sub out. This means it would be impossible to screw the handles in from the back.

Now all the handles are there fore is to stop things leaning on the subs skin. Now can anyone come up with a good way of putting on the handles with the sub still all in place.

Hope that makes sense.

The handles, got 2 320mm ones and 2 224mm ones. So will have 4 horizontal across the sub.

Flat bracket back of each handle on the bit that touches the box.

3 holes in each bracket

2 screw into the box, one into the back of the handle.

Cover with felt.

No more nails?

No needs to be more substantial than that. Remember the whole box will vibrate all the time, no more nails will work loose.

Also another thing, the handles have to be removable, otherwise I cannot ever get my sub out of the box.

I like! Have a slit in the carpet near the handle and adaptor and that will allow me to peel back the carpet to take them off in the future. Little bit of velcro could be used to hold down the carpet when i dont need to get to the screws.

Drill holes into, but not through sub-box, holes that are a few mm smaller than the outer diameter of the handles.

Knock in with rubber mallet.

Can still be pulled out with brute force, but won't be knocked out by things pressing on them ;)
