Madrid supporter here. Lifelong as well
I am well happy of playing Spurs for two reasons. Their keeper and defence are well suspect so it should be interesting. I am also quite happy as Spurs are an attacking team so it should be fun to watch whatever the result.
Saying that Ronaldo is our only threat is laughable at best. We have got Ozil, who has been outstanding, Di Maria, Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Marcelo, Adebayor … plenty of threats for any team to deal with. We have been quite solid in defence (when Pepe doesn’t go berserk!) for the most part and we have got depth of squad in that respect. Albiol, Garay, Arbeola, Carvalho, Ramos and Pepe are all pretty good. Midfield is our weakest link with Xabi Alonso as out main man and Khedira as his main support man. Granero is a decent replacement for Alonso and Lass for Khedira but am not so confident in them.
Saying Marcelo is a liability could have been true last year but not this one. The bloke has really stepped up a notch this season and he has been good at defence and outstanding when attacking. Ramos is very good when he gets his head down and does as he is told, he has been inconsistent sometimes through the year but who knows what will happen.
I don’t think Spurs will get rip to shreds like someone has mentioned though. It should be tighter than that and that is what makes this competition the best. You play against the best, if you prefer to play the weakest teams go and play the FA Trophy!
